The Ohio Achievement Assessments are coming up in April. To help with the vocabulary portion of the test, I took samples of practice tests, cut out all the vocabulary questions and put them on cardstock. Then I laminated them.The cards review synonyms, antonyms, homophones, definitions, and context clues. This year, I have 6 teams of 4 students in my classroom. One person from each team comes to the front of the room and selects a card from the pile. They silently read the question on their card and give a signal when they are ready to answer. Their team recieves a point for each correct answer. When the first group has answered their question, the next group of six (one from each team) comes forward to take their turn. They enjoy this process so much more than doing pencil/paper activities!
